Dental Implants and Surgery
Our periodontists place various types of dental implants. These procedures aim to provide long-term solutions for missing or damaged teeth, restore chewing function, and improve the appearance of your smile.
The benefits of dental implants
Dental implants offer a durable, natural-looking solution for replacing missing teeth. They serve as a support for crowns, bridges, or dentures, reproducing the appearance of natural teeth and restoring their function.
Implants are surgically placed in the jawbone, which provides lasting stability and helps preserve bone mass. This type of treatment is well suited to patients looking for an alternative to removable dentures.
The implant surgery process
Placing a dental implant involves several stages. First, a full assessment is carried out to determine whether the patient is a good candidate for implants. This may include X-rays or a 3D scan to plan the placement precisely.
The surgical procedure itself is performed under local anaesthetic. In some cases, sedation may be offered for the patient’s comfort. After the implant is placed, a healing period is required before the final restoration can be attached.
